THE DOCTRINE OF MAN

Man was created in the image of God: Just as God is
an intelligent being, has a will, and can express
emotions, so are we. We possess intelligence
(we think); we have like emotions (love,
jealousy, anger); we have a will (make
decisions to obey or not obey) (Gen 1:26).

Man is body, soul, and spirit (1Thess 5:23).

The body is the house in which our soul and spirit
lives. Through our bodies we experience the
world around us, seeing, hearing, touching,
tasting, smelling. With our bodies we interact
       with others.

   Creation of man (Gen 1:26-31)
The soul is the unseen part that includes personality,
       mind, will, and emotions.

The spirit is our unseen part through which we can
       know God.

Man disobeyed God (Rom 5:12).
Man's disobedience brought all under sin
( Rom 3:23, 5:12 ) ( 1Cor 15:21-22 ).

Festus, Agrippa (Acts 26:1-28)
Sin must be punished; it brings death (Rom 6:23a;
Ezek 18:4b). This death is eternal separation from
God in a place of punishment - hell.

Achan (Josh 7:19-26)

Every person is born with a sin nature and cannot
keep from doing wrong (Rom 3:23).

Nicodemus (John 3:1-16)
